HUNTLY 'ROOM TO ROAM' MOTTO
The Scottish town of Huntly, birthplace of Victorian novelist George MacDonald, has adopted MacDonald's phrase "Room To Roam" as its motto. The phrase was memorably enshrined in the title track of the 1990 Waterboys album of the same name. And in 2008 Mike Scott collaborated with artist Jaak Coetzer and the people of Huntly in a project to recast the song Room To Roam as the town's anthem, hence the title's investiture now as motto.
